Re: The Sky’s the Limit- PBEM GC 41 jubjub (Axis) vs. M60A3TTS (Soviet)

In keeping with past practices, North Caucasus Air Command assumes responsibility for the shattered air groups. These include groups with few to no aircraft. They may have any number of pilots, from 0 to 67, it simply depends on individual circumstances. All of these aircraft go to Restricted ...

Re: Turn 1 German Air Losses - 1.50 Beta

As for turn 1 C41, has anyone ever produced a comprehensive, credible list of aircraft destroyed in the first week of the war for both sides, including how many a/c were destroyed on the ground (by bombing and/or by overrunning airfields)? Would be really interested in seeing that totals and the ...

But this is a model worthy of deep game play. Although the learning curve is steep you are definitely rewarded.
+1 It takes a while but it's well worth it.

Re: War Kickoff T1 Axis - CPP?

Depending on your objectives you really to cover as much ground in '41 as possible before the Soviets can make a good solid defensive line. It's true that you do exhaust your CPP but for the first few turns you don't really need to worry about it as the Soviets can't put up much of a defense.

Re: What's the feeling on CPP? And Assault HQ?

Totally disagree with your "feelings" and opinion on this matter. CPP works quite well and gives the player the feedback that you can't run a division week after week fighting and moving and expect its combat values to remain the same, as when it was fresh and rested. Fatigue, lack of supply, low ...

Re: Thunder in the East - GC41 NEE K62 (A) vs AtAtack (S)

Did you do anything with your Luftwaffe? I would be interested in your air settings as you did move remarkably fast.

Also do you think there was anyway your opponent could have stopped you?

Re: Press Coverage and Reviews of WITE2

WITE2 just won The Charles S Roberts award which are mainly for board games awards but there is an award for best computer wargame - WITE2 won that. It was announced yesterday. The category is near the bottom of the page.

Theater box showing CV instead of TO&E

When I access the Theater Box the units usually showed the current TO&E. Now it's showing the CV. Did I press a button somewhere by accident? I prefer to see the current TO&E at glance without having to hover over each unit and can't figure out how to change it.

How can I change that back?

Re: Motorising Inf Divs for Pathfinding

When you do that you lose most of the trucks which are more valuable than your tanks as they help with supplying your units. It would be better to break down a Motorized Division (MD) into Regiments for pathfinding.

Re: Tips for a struggling newcomer?

I've always started with the GC even back with WITE 1. If things don't work out start over or stop and take a look at what you are doing. Part of the fun in this game is getting yourself out of difficult situations that you more than likely caused yourself... :)

Re: War in the East 2 Official Update V1.02.45

Just getting back into this after taking a long break. Is there a link to the update?

I started out as an Alpha/Beta tester and was never able to download a finished copy and my introductory page does not have the capability for checking for updates so I need to download the update.

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>I love the hard cover manual BUT I would pay tall money for an accompanying large paper map (with hexes) much like the old SPI War in the East board game. RE: War in the West?

This was discussed a very long time ago in both the WITE1 and WIW forums. Gary's long time goal is to have a War in Europe type game, not sure if Africa would be included or when the start date would be. The current map is ready to use, all they need to do is make the area's playable
