Re: Please Forgive a Grognard Trying to Understand WitE2

Thanks for taking the time to post that! It's very helpful. Although, it's a little worrisome that it took "years" to piece all that together. :)

Please Forgive a Grognard Trying to Understand WitE2

Hi all. At the risk of running into a buzzsaw..... I’ve seen a number of posts from people asking about estimating combat odds pre-battle, and I understand that the answer is basically “you can’t”. I can accept that (sort of…see below) and the FoW aspect of that, although it’s sometimes difficult to...

Oh. Perhaps you mean Order of Battle? Maybe a bit too beer and pretzels for me. Or has it fleshed out since I first tried it?

Re: Thinking of Taking TOAW4 On Again

That's very helpful, thanks. I can't argue with you about John Tiller's games. I was just looking for something fresh (to me). What do you mean by "OOB for "Matrix's MP" system"? I didn't know Warplan had MP actually. Silly me. I prefer operational games, but that may be worth a ...

Thinking of Taking TOAW4 On Again

I was looking this game over today and was thinking of taking it up again after many years. How does it hold up as a multiplayer experience these days? Is it easy/difficult to find opponents? Is the Discord still a thing? Is there a better hex-based historical multiplayer experience, other than Till...

If it's not too late, I'd be interested too. I'm a little post-newbie. About 50 hours into the game. Eric

RE: No Pause on DB View

Thanks, but I believe there is now a way to disable the pause in the first place in the settings. It's that new feature I'm looking for.

No Pause on DB View

Forgive the elementary question, but I can't seem to find the new "No Pause on DB View" feature. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks

RE: Best Scenarios Since Release of CMO

Perhaps a dumb question for thewood1: Is the new version of The Hunters the one that's in the current DLC set for Shifting Sands, or is there another more recent version out there somewhere? (I didn't think the DLC Packs had been updated.)

Best Scenarios Since Release of CMO

I'm looking for my next few plays and it occurred to me to ask: What are your favorite scenarios since the release of CMO last year? I.e. newer scenarios taking advantage of CMO's new features.

Mine are (i) the new version of Canary's Cage and (ii) Sahel Slugfest.

RE: Questions about Broken Shield 300

<t> FWIW, I also wasn’t able to rescue the special forces team. I hovered for a while and also tried to pick up both to no avail. There’s a mobile unit in the same space as the stranded unit, which is odd. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. Eventually, I targeted that mobile unit, thereby ...

RE: Time Lag with Broken Shield 300?

I'm running Windows 10 on a Intel i7-6700; 3.4 GHz with 16GB RAM. I own TacView, but I don't run it. Thanks for your responses. I guess I'll just have to enjoy your scenario slowly. [:)] Really enjoying it so far, despite the lag issue.

RE: Time Lag with Broken Shield 300?

<t> It's pretty much constant, but is especially prevalent after I click on an airfield. That slows it down to a crawl, perhaps because the airfields can have 100 or so components? I assume if no one has the same problem, it must be something about my system, but I don't have the problem with any ot...

[Logged] Time Lag with Broken Shield 300?

<t> Is anyone else experiencing significant time lag with Broken Shield 300? I've never had a problem with any other CMO scenario even with many more contacts and things happening. Broken Shield will cook along for a minute or two, then slow down to about 1.5x. This is at the beginning of the scenar...

RE: Question re Old Grudges Never Die

Great scenario Bart. As a newcomer to the game I have the pleasure of experiencing the LIVE scenarios for the first time on CMO. I very much enjoyed this one. Didn't quite beat it (average), but I'll try again. (Enjoying the book too, BTW. When I finish it I'll hit the Amazon reviews.)
