There must be some kind of bug in the transfer WAV file. During the game it only sounds sometimes. Perhaps the file is corrupted.

Why further reduce audio quality and increase complexity to save a few megabytes in 2025?

It reduces work and time when you´re making a sound mod, and the file weight is important to upload it, as Claus said.

Backup the sound folder first, then copy/paste the Background you prefer. Easier if you use a mod enabler (ie JSGME).

Yep, the music is a bit annoying but my sound mod introduces background battle sounds into the "background music".
