RE: Game crashes 50% of time when starting a campaign

I seem to have narrowed the crash down. It happens when I select the Go to War without playing any other card. So I just need to play the, free, Intelligence card before Go to War and it works fine.

RE: The PP gift horse?

How much do you need for that turn? If you have 16 decisions, then it might be worth considering, but 17 pp in itself is nothing worrying from my perspective

RE: Resupply Mission

Basic supply, which is still critical, but you are unlikely to to need respply missions,unless for encircled troops, or divisions deep in the Pripyat marches, as the mechanic for basic supply is a lot more forgiving that fuel supplies.

RE: Soviet AI Strong early?

<t> I can come with a few, hopefully relevant, comments to your situation:<br/>
<br/>
1) You seem to have 3 units in a hex at a few places. Often a single unit will be enough, two for important/exposed hexes. Even if the Soviets attack they will rarely be able to exploit it. This could free up ...

RE: Soviet AI Strong early?

<r> Well, Soviet doctrine was AFAIK to go on the offensive whenever possible, so what you are seeing seems to mimic that. The issue in reality was of course that Germany completely overran any and all Soviet units, so any Soviet units forming up for an attack never made it of the start line before ...

RE: An undo move key is needed

I agree that an undo move COULD be acceptable if a unit moves behind the lines, but as each unit provides recon points for every hex in 3(4?) hexes then most unit movements will provide intelligence, even if marginal.

RE: Can someone explain what the unit power number reflects?

It indicates the size of the unit and have no relation to supply, equipment, morale, attack factors, etc. Of course it can be used as a pretty good indicator of the units ability to fight, as there is generally a correlation between size and combat prowess :)

Loss of cities (especially multiple in a turn, which would happen if you ran) make Stalin more prone to a paranoid episode, causing loss of PP and execution of generals.

RE: grand encirclement DC3 V Wite?

I am not familiar with WITE version on the Lvov pocket, but I routinely pocket 5 armies during the first 4-5 turns with my PGs from Lublin meeting the Romanians in Proskurow. But it is not like this guarantees a "win" for AGS.
