Re: Experienced Allied player seeking a replacement player for an existing game.

Eloso's assesment is accurate.

If you want to look at the game you can e-mail me at mike.mccreery@ gmail.com

I have a working file saved just before I surrendered the game due to scheduling inconsistencies on both sides.

Economy is strong but the area north of Australia including port Moresby ...

Re: Mk 18 mine

Good question Mike. I don't know the answer but there's only one appearing in v26b. You must be on 28.

Using the editor I can see three differences, one (device numbers 1649) has a buld rate, a penetration value and a different load cost to the other. The one without is device numbers 127.

I'm ...

Re: What was I thinking?

Just a heads up. The game slowed down pace wise to a crawl. I have surrendered as my opponent and my schedule just did not mesh well enough to continue.

We ended on April 1, 1942. I got caught up in a grind war in Burma and had just recently taken Rangoon. Java was not completely conquered with a ...

Experienced Allied player looking for an opponent (closed)

Looking for a Japanese player who is interested in playing at least a turn a day on average. The start of the game takes more time and pauses for vacations and real life events are expected along the way.

The scenario, HR's and other items are negotiable.

I have had the honor of playing against ...

Carrier Trained vs Carrier Capable

Hello,

There are airgroups that are carrier capable and some air groups that are carrier trained as well.

I remember that you can train air groups by putting them on carriers for a certain period of time.

Does it take 30 days or 90 days or another number to convert a group from carrier capable to ...

Re: Movement Issues

This is confirmed.

If you have an HQ unit lead an assault into a hex with enemy troops the attack may fail and the entire stack be cancelled for some reason. I looked through the manual and was unable to find any comments regarding this 'feature'.

However, I have moved troops into both Sian and ...

Re: Movement Issues

Re Sian road.

Are all your LCUs there following the HQ unit?
HQs in stock scenarios have 0 AV. Maybe this resets the stack movement prior to entering an enemy held hex?
I would make all units follow the biggest (in AV terms) LCU.

Thanks for your suggestion. In both cases they were following ...

Movement Issues

I am playing with the new scenario 2 map (and also playing scenario 1 in another game)

There are issues with the movement on the map in various locations and they seem to be consistent.

The current issue I am having relates to movement in 2 locations on the map. In the first I have amphibiously ...

Re: Switching Float Planes on Subs

It would be considered "gamie" to use Jakes on subs. unfortunately many naval air types are misused by players, most unknowingly, such as using certain aircraft on CV type ships that were not capable of handling them. but such details are usually ignored. However using the Jake on a sub is way too ...

Switching Float Planes on Subs

So I am looking at my fleet of subs with the Glen float planes. They use the Amakazi engines which I would like to discontinue.

Is there any reason I could not upgrade the float planes on the subs from Glen to Jake?

Re: What was I thinking?

February 23 1942

Big success at Pegu in Burma, the Allies tried to make a stand there and lost a good bit of troops although they retreated back into Rangoon. We will see how long that takes to route out. The supply to China will be cut and that was the major objective. Going slow in Java right now ...

Java is slow going without the KB for air support. Just managed to land a few divisions from Singapore so land movement will begin shortly.

Re: What was I thinking?

I dropped troops at Pegu and found a large defending force in Rangoon. Several battles later I have not managed to push him out of the hex but I am happy to fight in open terrain. He has some tanks that are slowing me down. Have several tank regiments on the way, will cross into Sittang Bridge to ...

Re: What was I thinking?

Here is an excel spreadsheet showing supply flow after the conquest of Singapore.

The numbers are wildly misleading due to the fact that many ports are drawing on oil/resource and transporting to the home islands. The singapore resource drop is due to direct withdrawl at the port.

Have set ...
