Re: Questions

I don't know, I'm wondering if the developer will abandon it soon... it often happens with games that barely see any activity

battlecommandgames and saintruth are working a Generals Edition of Desert War. Will update the map from 3,200 meters to 2,500 meters per hex (like Stalingrad and ...

Re: Questions

There is (will be) no difference between the Steam version, of Overlord (when it’s released), and the Non-Steam version.

Like you, I’m surprised at the lack of traffic. Not sure why. Have not seen any posts hating the game / frustrated with it. Have seen several posts complementing it.

Re: How do I save the game?

Good idea / Will ask Brian Kelly to add it to his “Things to Do List.”

For what it’s worth, right now Task #1 (for Brian) is get a Steam version of Overlord up and running.

All the best,

Re: Editor picking wrong unit image

I looked at KAR scen 1.7z . . . No error statements loading / A quick review showed each unit had a TypePic assigned (100 or greater).

I take it, you posted the file you had fixed using the drop down gui . . . Correct???

Have not yet taken a look at KAR XIII Tuman.7z

Re: How do I save the game?

Go to the lower lefthand button (on the screen) and click it.

You should also enable Autosave.

On the main screen, when you open the game, click on “Options” and then check the lower lefthand box “Autosave”.

Hope this helps,

Re: Editor picking wrong unit image

Send me the .csv file in question + the TypePic problems you’re having (dontimian@hotmail.com). Let me take a look. Don.

P.S. I’ve found it’s often best to use the drop down gui vs. typing in the TypePic file number.

Re: AAR - Get the hell off the beach - bloody Omaha!

Brian Kelly is busy working on Overlord Steam + his day job.

How ‘bout you and I playing a scenario + writing an AAR? You pick the scenario and sides.

All the best,

Re: WEGO World War II: Overlord is out now

Each player plans their Multiplayer move when their calendar allows. In other words, both players do not need to be on-line (at the same time) in order for one player to plan their next move. Hope I'm making sense . . . Don.

Re: CRT changes not showing up

So I take it that your modified CRT code is now working? Don.

For what it’s worth, after chatting with battlecommandgames, I asked Brian Kelly (Saint Ruth) to take a look at your mod’s . . . Thinking it may just be a small error in the modified code.

Re: WEGO Overlord - Retreat Question

Recommend you take a look at Developer Diary #4 and try the suggested approach to the Brit and Canadian Beaches.

Not the 100% answer; a.k.a., works every time. The “dice gods” get a vote. But it gives you a good chance of getting ashore at each Beach.

Re: Monty's Front Desert War Upgrade

Yes . . . All of Desert War is 3,200 meters per hex or 2 miles. Both Stalingrad and Overlord are 2,500 meters (per hex).

The upgrade for Desert War will include all of the new features found in Stalingrad and Overlord + a new map (2,500 meters per hex).

Working Overlord bugs right now. Overlord v2 ...

Very likely they were ordered to “Hold at All Cost” (and it was a Success) . . . In other words they obeyed their orders.

By any chance do you have a screenshot of the Combat Results?

Re: Shock and Stack Size

The unit(s) with a Tank Company or Platoon must be Motorized (or Mechanized) to not reduce a Tank Company's or Platoon’s Shock Value.

Keep in mind, as explained in the Shock Section of the Stalingrad Manual, a unit’s Shock value can be significantly reduced depending on its Readiness or Strength ...
