<t>I like everyone you do Bill, but I would just like to remind you that the "chinks" in the AI can absolutely ruin a good design. In the "Preparing the Way" the first senario MINUS the aircraft would have been a challenging fight, I know you are trying to make them interesting, but not all of us ...

Preparing the Way

<t>If this camp is supposed to represent the landings in North Africa vs the Vicy French the first senario is NUTS. I mean hell the French have twice as much men and equipment than the Attacker????? Not to mention aircraft that seem to "know" where EVERY asset is??? Oh well it is erased from hard ...

Thanks for the info guys, it just confirms my thoughts that it was abit over done in the game, and when playing vs Brit forces the AI kind of "games the game" by choosing numerous squads of BoysAT (knowing full well it amounts to "cheap" tanks) :)

Boys AT Rifle

Does anyone have the spec's on these weapons??? They seem awfully strong at LONG distances??? I mean a 14 hex range with 25mm penatration seems a bit much but if they are high velocity I guess it is possible??? just wondering

<t>Well examples of "friendly fire" or in this example "bombing short" had NOTHING to do with military intel and ALL to do with incompetent implimentation of orders (hardly the things we were discussing in this thread)<br/>

Not to mention that it was not intended to be a "pissing contest" of ...

<t>heheh that would be nice Bing but the designers conviently only give ya half the points needed to purchase the right stuff and half the time required to do a proper assualt (just quit the stalingrad camp after the designer used a totally unreal senario to soak off all my armour (25 elite aa guns ...

<t>LOL Bing I know what you mean I have had that happen in several camps, not sure if it is intentional or just a bug with map making (seems like I remember some bug regarding that). MY pet peeve is getting a draw when you have taken all the V hexs and hold them in strength and the computer issues a ...

<r>OK tried Stalingrad, here the problem with this one. ALL the Russian troops are set to ELITE (sorry not historical). Numbers are fine but unroutable troops is not correct, the Russian troops in many cases were ordered into battle at gun point (hardly elite troopers).<br/>

Now with that ...

<r>Thanks all for the great input <E>:)</E><br/>
<br/>
Bing in my military training there are four points Rear, right and left flank, and point.<br/>
Normally a "rear guard" is posted when making a retrograde movement (marines don't retreat, they just attack in the opposite direction).<br/>

<t>Ok first off WB I didn't want to really step hard on your toes I know you have done alot of work trying to make these up. The one I am playing is the "long road" and I use combined infantry and armour when moving up, I have had armour "appear" in hexes I passed thru with my infantry who did not ...

Camp's

<t>It seems to me that these Campaigns are abit silly WB??? Your setups seem to indicate that the Players team has NO intel??? I mean getting a DELAY order and then having to attack seems like G2 needs to be lined up against the wall and shot and hordes of tanks appearing in the REAR of the ...

Early Termination

<t>I thought that the game quitting before the allotted amount of turns had been fixed???<br/>
I am still using the 5.x and during the "freedom watch" camp, in the third battle just as I was about to capture all the hexes the game quit (turn 16 of 25) and gave me a DRAW result???? I can deal with ...

Heh unless you have experienced War then it is tough to say what is "real life" <G> In fact the ONLY thing about "real life" war is that it is often "sureal" and decisions get made very quickly and without alot of thought sometimes.

<t>Hmmmm well to my point of view two things are operating here. One you have the "gamer" i.e learn all the advantages and disadvantages of the "game" and then play. Two you have the "historic gamer" who expects the values to reflect (as closely as possible) the historic values and then employs the ...

Vor,

Read Sven's post he put it better than I did but the question is "accuracy" and the .50 is more accurate than the .30 and at a longer distance and I think you see that reflected in the stats you posted.
