RE: 1943 offensive air warefare - advice needed

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>You need lots of escorts to adequately escort bombers. I am very careful with these raids. Generally I will sweep a target for several turns prior to escorted bombing raids. On the other hand, B17/24s at 15k don't normally need escorts unless they hit a mass of fighters.<e ...

RE: 1943 offensive air warefare - advice needed

<t> I took advice of Russian generals and gave another battle, this time with huge superiority of numbers on my side [:'(]. Japanese managed to shot down 40 of my fighters taking several losses but I had over twice the number of fighters so they were not able to do much damage to my bombers this ...

RE: 1943 offensive air warefare - advice needed

<t> I play on historical difficulty setting. I guess my tactic is wrong. Most of the time I set my escort at 15K feet and bombers at 10K. Only recently, after seeing some posts on the forum, I started setting the altitude of the fighters the same as the bombers. In that case though escort planes ...

1943 offensive air warefare - advice needed

<t> Several months ago I started grand campaign playing Allies against AI Japan. Currently I am in the second half of 1943. I have a feeling that since last patch I am loosing air war against japanese figthers. Previously I was winning the air war with my P40s, Aircobras and Hurricanes, taking ...

Is there any way to repeat download?

Hi. The electronic download just stopped after downloading 66MB of data. Is there any way of repeating download process? I believe for other Matrix titles it is possible by going through my account. When this functionality will be added for that game?

<r> Each good war movie (not fairy tell) has anti-war message after all. I haven't seen a lot of Russian war movies (or maybe i saw a lot in my childhood and do not remember any more) but recently I watched "The Cranes are flying" (Mikhail Kalatozov) and "Come and see" (Elem Klimov). They really ...

RE: Aircraft upgrades

If I recall correctly I got N1K1 at least 2 months before schedule. It may depend on plane type and there is always variation from game to game due to random numbers involved.

RE: Torpedos usage

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>Torpedos, if used realistically rarely, should also be one hit - one kill weapons on anything smaller than CA (in most cases). Having AKs absorb 3-4 aerial or submarine torpedos before dying is just insane (<B><s>[b]</s>it helps mitigate torpedo abundance somewhat, though<e ...

RE: CHS Jap Aircraft Production

<t> I guess it all depends who do you play against. I am only casual gamer and limit myself to abusing AI. In order to win against it you probably don't have to move a finger. I tinker with production mostly because I always liked economy in games. <br/>

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>This is a general problem with the CHS "experimental" scenarios - there are other aircraft that are also affected - and I will be fixing it ASAP. Unfortunately the fix can't be applied to existing games, so I aould advise you to start again when the fix is available.<e ...
