RE: Bad move by the AI

<r> in one of my other posts about how to get russia and japan at war with each other i noticed that by bombing manchuria and killing a single infantry (assuming the ai has left the min 3 inf) you could get russia at war with japan, is this a bug or not? according to the manual "If <B><s>[b]</s>at ...

Bad move by the AI

<t> In my last game as the WA, the germans made a critical mistake, on the W42 turn they left N Italy undefended!! all they had was a single fighter unit, so it was a simple matter of making an ampib assualt (i controled the med) then reinforced it... in the following turns i took s italy, then the ...

RE: How to get Russia and Japan at war

i still dont know how to ready the rules from the manual properly, it could go either way... maby this is a ai issue, the ai always seem to garrison the min 3 units all the time, maby the ai need to be tweaked to add 1 or 2 more?

RE: How to get Russia and Japan at war

Just tried this again, this time i captured Ryukyo island (south of japan), stationed some heavy bombers, killed one of his infantry in manchura, and the russian zones became unfrozen though this time japan actualy suprised me and attacked the russians first

How to get Russia and Japan at war

<t> in my last game as both the WA and Russia i found a way to get eastern russian zones unfrozen. if, as the WA you can either capture indochina or luzon (north philippines) then send some heavy bombs there. from these bases they can reach Manhuria, from there you just keep bombing them until there ...

Complaint about the AI (defensive)

<t> I think the AI needs to be tweeked when it comes to its strategy to fall back and stack all its units in one territory (moscow, western germany, tokyo)<br/>
<br/>
when taking out the germans for example, it to easily falls back without defending its important industrial territories (east ...

Is there a way...

i was wondering if there is a way to make the numbers displaying the number of units and the strat movement points different? either different colors or even making the movement points small would help, i sometimes find it difficult to tell the difference when looking at a glance...

World at War sightings

Thought I would start a thread so people who have actually bought it or seen it can say where and when, this way I dont have to stop at the stores every day (though I probably will) looking for it

Editing the map

<t> Having just looked at some of the AAR maps I noticed how "plain" the russian front looked. I was wondering if it would be possible to add a few more city names (like leningrad, stalingrad, warsaw, kursk, ect) just to add a little to the map (and help identify where you are at) I am sure once you ...

Scenario Setup Clarification

when you chose computer+ for example, does this override any of the other options or are the accumlitive? for example at comp+ it gets a +1 for replacements and if you also select replacements +1 does the comp have a +1 or +2 bonus? Also does the comp+ add any AI bonuses?

In the end, we don't really care how you buy it. We're just happy if you buy it somehow. No, the CD version will not require the CD to be in the drive.

RE: One thing I wish the game had

Yes something like that would be cool, as what I want is something random so that the start of every games is somewhat random (though I do not want any extremes)

RE: One thing I wish the game had

The only problem with this is it is a bit of a pain to do, plus there still would be no random element (what the ai would pick)

One thing I wish the game had

<t> A posted a question earlier about starting locations/forces and was told that they were fixed. I had been hoping that some sort of variation would have been included so that the opening moves would not get stale. I was thinking along the line of axis and allies europe where the german player ...

RE: Replay Value....

<t> Its good to here the AI varies its moves. One major problem with most games is that AI does the same thing over and over, so that by having no 'randomness' to their strategy they quickly become easy to conquer. But by the sounds of it this game trys to change this trend so I am very hopefull the ...
