The rapier was a rushjob IIRC, the best AA the Brits have is the scorpion.<br/>
<br/>
The Helos should always be used from a height difference and always have a waypoint to go back to base as the last waypoint. Otherwise they are dead. If ...

Tuhhodge, that does seem a bit odd. Even though the marker for the Helo does not move to a new hex, the unit is considered to be moving and masking within the hex. If you can send me a save game that will show some of the SAM attacks, I ...

Rapier a bit blunt?

<t> I was playing a scenario yesterday where three batteries of rapiers fired approximately 25 SAMs at a Russian helo and obtained no hits. The helo was stationary for 20 minutes! <br/>
<br/>
Meanwhile I lose Kiowas within moments when faced by Russian recon units. The helos seemingly ignore ...

RE: Armored Vehicles and Artillery

I’ve just started playing this game again and also found the speed with which arty is called and the. able to plaster a hex is remarkably fast. The effects are also devastating despite the armour being on the move. These hexes are 500m across!

Problems with Parallels

<t> This is a bit tricky and I suspect there will be very few people able to understand, let alone help. I play games on my Macbook Pro through Parallels 10. <br/>
<br/>
I downloaded Flashpoint Campaigns Red Storm Player's Edition through Windows 8.1 operating within Parallels worked and the game ...

RE: playing against the AI is a joke

<t> I'm obviously a completely useless player because I don't find the AI easy. But then again, I always play 'realistically', have never used HQ build up, keep my supply lines historical, and don't make ridiculously ahistorical penetrations deep into enemy territory which would be wiped out by any ...

RE: MAX TOE of HQs

Understrength combat units will obviously suffer a reduced CV but what effect does a lower TOE for an HQ unit have on it?

Better approximation of CV

<t> Hello all, <br/>
<br/>
I have browsed the forum but cannot find a discussion about the 1941-45 Campaign with ALT CV. <br/>
<br/>
Could someone please explain:<br/>
<br/>
1) the reasoning for the 'Better approximation of CV';<br/>
<br/>
2) how it is calculated and displayed in the game ...

I move them but always do so reluctantly because I was under the impression that they use so much of your transport (truck) capacity? No?

RE: Luftwaffe replacements/upgrades

In all seriousness, when one bears in mind the scale of the game, does the qualitative difference of the JU-88 over the HE111 matter? Let alone the improvement offered by an H6 over an H4?

I'm glad you posted your experience of the Map mod. I have just been experiencing the same problem with a corrupt RAR file. The file 29.tga leads to an "Irrecoverable Error: CRC error detected" when unzipped. The map still loads but the tiles along the bottom of the map ...

Night bombing

<t> In Robert Kershaw's book on Barbarossa he tells of many dawn bombing raids. Out of curiosity, I tried switching a few aircraft to night operations on a Turn 1 of the Campaign. I then tried a few airfield attacks. Absolutely useless. No damage to enemy aircraft. I then tried bombing ground units ...
