Improvements for clarity

I just picked up the game today and am really enjoying it. I tend to bounce off most wargames (not for lack of trying!), but the excellent tutorial missions in CSVN have really helped me feel like I know what I'm doing.
My biggest gripe with the game so far is a bit of a lack of clarity in the text and graphics. I have a 23" 1080p monitor and I find the text is somewhat difficult to read in the menus, and more difficult to read when overlayed over the map graphics. The ability to change fonts, font size, and smooth fonts through the options menu would go a long way, though it may be difficult to do thanks to the old engine.
Also nice would be a better way to judge elevation differences at a glance would be great (without having to turn on the numbered elevation overlay). A good example is the 2d maps in the modern versions of Panzer Battles by JTS/WDS. Though from other threads it looks like this may not be possible due to the number of elevations in the game.
Finally an unrelated suggestion would be to integrate the intro video into the game engine itself (again I understand it may not be possible due to the age of the engine) rather than a separate video popup. I love the intro video and it's a shame that it's running over top of the sounds from the launch menu. It would be really nice to have the launch menu and it's interfering sounds close and the video to load up without the background noise interfering when the game is launched. This one is very minor but would be a nice bit of polish.
None of these are massive issues, just my initial thoughts after a few hours of playing. I really am enjoying the game so far, and I look forward to becoming a better wargamer through it!
