Russian Central Front without air command

Post by sven6345789 »

Is there a historical reason for the decision that Central Front does not have a dedicated air command?

Just searched for some information. There were 2 Central Fronts in the war.

If you are referring to the first (it lasted just 1 month in 1941), there was an Air Command according to this wiki article, OOB included, you may google translate if you cannot read russian (like me  ).

The commander is in the database G. A. Vorozheykin (Vorozheikin, Grigory in the game).

The second was active in 1943, 8 months. 16th Air Army commanded by Sergei Rudenko.

I normally give them Long Range Air Command, since I don't plan to be doing any strategic bombing. The IL-4 and DB-3B squadrons go to the naval commands, where their big ranges come in handy.

But yes, it is pretty annoying that they don't come with their own air HQ like the other Fronts.
