Why no HMGs?

Why no HMGs?

Just curious why these units were left out of the game? I'm talking about the heavy MG squads assigned to Heavy Weapons Companies of both American and German infantry regiments, not the light MGs in infantry squads which I assume are modelled into their stats. In a game of this scale, they should definitely be there...especially for defense.

Could it be they'd cause too much clutter? They would need their own counter rather than be stuck with the heavy mortar/IG units...

Would it totally bork the game if I modded them in?

No problem, i like modded scenarios.
The only real limit is that you have only 8 slots !
