Op Allied Force - question

Post by CV32 »

Playing community scenario Op Allied Force (w/Build 460).

Some Airbus and Boeing airliners are being identified as 'hostile' immediately upon identification, which I don't think was the intent of the scenario author. Confirmation?

Looks like this was an issue when the scenario was built? Some commercial and marine traffic is being identified as hostile, and then showing up in civilian losses if attacked.

I made the scenario and I am pretty sure that when I tested all the civilian ships and planes were showing up as non-hostile. There are a few that are supposed to be hostile will give it a look.

Ok, thanks. I did gather that some ships were supposed to be considered legitimate targets, but I am seeing commercial air traffic (the aforesaid Boeing and Airbus airliners, for example) and some marine traffic (e.g. a cruise ship) also being identified as hostile. I didn't make any changes to posture when starting the scenario, and when I hit numpad 3, these questionable units immediately re-appear as hostile. Hope this helps.

I too had this issue but I think it is because I mistakenly marked a unit hostile and then all of that sides units were hostile for the rest of the game..shot down 10 airliners I think..(yes I was fired afterwards but completed the scen as a victor)
But By Grace Go I.......

Its quite possible that is what happened with me. Thanks!

This would seem to highlight a need for some way to re-label targets as non-hostile.

The sea port was secured with a single flight of Hercules (in my case, 3x). To the scenario author: Is this intentional? (Esp since the player has 30x aircraft at his disposal).

No that is not correct should take all 15 planes per objective that's what I have in the events and triggers. Why it did that I have no answer for that.

That's what I expected to have to do, and all 30x Hercules were in the air for the final phase of the mission. But as soon as the first package of 3x Hercules flew over, the message popped up to say the port had been secured.
