Couple of Requests for near future units:

F/A-18E/F Super Hornet Block III (Early 2020s)
Add Conformal Fuel Tanks (so just increase fuel capacity) to increase range (low end I've seen +120nm to radius, high end I've seen +300nm).
Slight Reduction to RCS (New coating).
Integrated IRST

Other upgrades are to computer processing, datalink, and pilot displays. Not sure what changes this would translate to in game.

Multi-Mission Combat Ship (Saudi LCS Modification):

Modified Freedom class ship. USN Equivalent possible as part of FFG(X) although it does not meet all requirements. Would also swap NSM for Harpoon.

Length increased to 387'
Complement increased to 100-130
Mission Modules removed
2x 8 cell Mk41 VLS cells for ESSM or SM-2
Airbus TRS-4D AESA
2x FCR for SM-2
57mm gun replaced with 76mm gun
8x Harpoon II missiles
2x Torpedo launchers for Mk46 Torpedo (Triple Tube, presumably)

Range increased to 5000nm @ 10 knots
Speed decreased to "in excess of 30 knots" (likely 37 knots)

Saudi MH-60R would also need to be added to database. Plan is to buy 4x Frigates and 10x MH-60R

Patrol Frigate Variants for FFG(X) USN
All are modified National Security Cutters by Huntington-Ingalls
Highly Recommended Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_wusP9gBvs

FF4501 (less likely considering RFP for FFG(X) Requirements)
Essentially exact same as Database unit 2431 with the addition of a Sterm Ramp for 11m RHIB and Side Davit for 7m RHIB. All Tout 8000nm range at 10 knots. All have facilities for 2x MH-60 Helicopters and/or up to 4x UAV

FF4910
Addition of ES-3701 ESM Suite (as in Unit 755 Visby Corvette)
SeaRAM instead of CIWS
Torpedo/Sonobuoy Magazine for Helicopters
Stern Ramp for 11m RHIB
Towed Array Sonar (Probable ITT 980 like below)
UUV Docking/Launch facilities for Mine warfare

FF4921
Same as FF4910 PLUS:
Nixie Torpedo Decoy
TT 980 Towed Array VDS Sonar (As seen in unit 1482)
2x Mk32 Triple Torpedo Launchers
TT 997 Hull Mounted Sonar (EDO 997 in game)
12 cell MK 56 VLS for ESSM (quad packed)
6x CEA-FAR Radar + 4x CEA-MOUNT Radar (as seen on unit 2607)
Gun replaced with 76mm OTO MElara Gun
2x 25mm Autocannon Weapon Stations
2x 4 tube Missile Launchers for NSM/JSM

FF4922
Same as FF4921 Plus/Except
CAPTAS VDS Instead of TT980
KINGKLIP Sonar Instead of TT997 (as seen on unit 2367)
1x STIR 1.2 FC Radar (and other STIR sensors, presumably)
SMART-S Radar suite (presumably in lieu of CEA-FAR but not confirmed)

FF4923
Same as 4922 Plus/Except
2x STIR 2.4 FC Radar (plus other STIR 2.4 sensors)
16 Cell Mk41 VLS (instead of Mk56) for SM-2, ESSM, ASROC

New Navy requirements for the FFG(X):

https://news.usni.org/2017/07/10/navy-r ... o-industry

"...The RFI notes the Navy is still seeking industry input on a variety of capabilities – including, how to incorporate missile launchers for Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile (ESSM) Block 2 and Standard Missile (SM)-2, according to an early draft of the RFI obtained by USNI News...

...The Navy still has not worked out how to incorporate VLS into its frigate plans, and the RFI does not include VLS in its chart of required weapon systems but rather requests input from potential shipbuilders on how to incorporate the missile launchers. Though this issue doesn’t have an engineering solution yet, the new name of the ship class – guided-missile frigate (FFG(X)) compared to the previously named frigate (FF) – suggests a dedication to resolving this issue...

...Many of the required weapons systems are pulled from the previous FF requirements: the COMBATSS-21 Combat Management System, which pulls software from the same common source library as the Aegis Combat System on large surface combatants; the SeaRAM anti-ship missile defense system; a canister-launched over-the-horizon missile; the surface-to-surface Longbow Hellfire missile; the Mk53 Nulka decoy launching system; the Surface Electron Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP) Block 2 program with SLQ-32(V)6; and a slew of undersea warfare tools such as the AN/SLQ-61 light weight tow, AN/SQS-62 variable depth sonar and AN/SQQ-89F undersea warfare/anti-submarine warfare combat system. It also requires use of the MK 110 57mm gun with the Advanced Low Cost Munition Ordnance (ALaMO) projectile being developed for the LCS and frigate.

Other required weapon systems would promote commonality with larger ships in the fleet, such as the Enterprise Air Surveillance Radar (EASR), a larger variant of which will go on future Ford-class aircraft carriers and amphibious assault ships...

You can find the entire FFG(X) RFI here: https://www.fbo.gov/index?s=opportunity ... e&_cview=0

Lots of good details in there, in addition to what the poster above has said. The OTH missile being described will almost certainly be the NSM since it is the only missile still in the competition. (Lockheed pulled the LRASM, Boeing Pulled the Harpoon).

Delivery set for around 2024.

Some thoughts on the RFI are here: http://navy-matters.blogspot.ca/

Seems the author considers the RFI - 'underwhelming'

That's probably fair, though I think that link is a little too much of a wet blanket.

With 'only' ESSM and SM-2, the ship can't be an AAW escort? "Only" 8 cannister launched OTH anti-ship missiles?

That's a little ridiculous - SM-2 and the latest ESSM variants allow plenty of range for air defense. Of course they're not SM-3 or -6s, but so what? Both missiles, in the likely quantities you'd be able to have on a single 3-5000 ton ship are sufficient for everything but an all-out peer-on-peer fight where the ship is totally on its own against a full squadron of missile boats or aircraft. And 8x anti-ship missiles is standard for the vast majority of frigate-class ships in the world. Sure, 12x or 16x would be better, of course, but that's also that much more expensive, deckspace and weight for cost.

The design also doesn't include the VLS system, but it also doesn't exclude it. A 16-24 cell VLS would let you carry plenty of ESSMs, maybe just enough SM-2s if you don't carry anything else, and ASROC, NSM (which has been tested in a VLS configuation and also has a land-attack capability, IIRC) and anything else you can fit in there.

We'll probably get a variant of the LCS, with 16x VLS for ESSM, 8x NSM, that stupid 57mm gun (though a 5"/62 with Vulcano guided rounds would be ideal, and are being installed on the DDGs) and SeaRAM.

I was thinking the doctrine with 'few' (8 or less) ASM is to knockdown only one easiest target; 'a ship for a ship' sort of approach.

Especially with aircraft carrier and submarine to compromise the hostile fleet's AA defenses until it's certain they cannot hold themselves any further. Then firing a small volley of ASM to act as a finishing move when hostile cannot effectively intercept them.

Without various platforms (carriers, bombers, subs, other land-based assets) to shredding an onion skins however, 8 shots of ASM is pathetic. That's why some budget and platform limited navies will practice saturation strike approach, to spear through AA defenses as fast as possible.

Hello,
I would like to request some missing stuff for the russians.

1) R-77-1 (RVV-SD) missile loadouts for the Su-27SM/3 and Su-30SM jets (Su-35S already has them). Both mix with older missiles and full R-77-1 loadouts. The real life situation is that the production was delayed quite a bit and the procurement started only in 2015. The first missiles (batch of about 30) that were delivered early 2016 we saw on the Su-35S in Syria. Next we saw them on Su-27SM3 as it was posted above me by Triode in post 3615. Till November this year they will get about 450-500 of those missiles and almost as much next year as well. So once they hit the squadrons in mass we will start seeing different loadouts, ofc mainly mixed with older missiles at first as they won't have that many for full R-77-1 loadouts. The AIM-120D and Meteor are quite rare atm also, but they have full loadouts for "near future" scenarios, so same should apply for the russian planes.

2) SAMs - Tor-M1-2U with 9М338 missiles and Tor M2 with 9М338К missiles. They actively procure such systems atm, got 32 each during the 2016 procurement.
https://sputniknews.com/russia/20170611 ... iles-test/
http://bmpd.livejournal.com/2511001.html

3) S-300V4 SAM is missing it's long range missile. It's called 9M82MD and has range up to 400km. Only the short and medium range ones are available in Command atm.
http://tass.com/defense/898884

4) Su-34 loadout including the SAP-14 jamming pod. It's in active service already.
Image

5) The russian Altius-M MALE UAV. Prototype yet, but for near future scenarios :)

The Emory S. Land-class submarine tenders are missing from the DB. Also, the F-35 is ostensibly able to fire the LRASM, but none of the U.S. F-35s in the DB have them in their inventory (the DB is also missing the USMC F-35C, only has navy variants ATM).

I'm surprised that there's no CATOBAR version of the R07 Queen Elizabeth. Granted, it seems like such an option isn't likely to be feasible in the real world, but it seems like a logical hypothetical option.

Hello,

Has anyone asked for the:

Just an idea. Looks like a fairly maneuverable bird compared to the A-10?

Missing:

2014 Finland made decision to buy FIM-92 Stinger (RMB Block 1) SHORAD missiles. Stingers will reportedly be used to replace Finland’s current arsenal of Russian-made SA-16/18 Igla missiles and 23mm “Sergei” (ZU-23 ItK 61) towed guns. Really bargain price for ~600 missiles.

These missiles are in use early 2015 and named: Ilmatorjuntaohjus 15 (ITO 15) Stinger RMP Block 1

AN/SPY- 6 AMDR radar is scalable. Would it be possible to add both a hypothetical larger (i.e. 20 foot instead of current 14 ft on AB iii) AMDR radar and hypothetical smaller AMDR radar (which could be used in frigate sized ship like LCS MMCS). Assume primary difference from current AMDR radar would be in range/power.

Also second request for hypothetical Queen Elizabeth class with catapults.

Thanks again for considering.

Some additional sources of information...I hope this helps...

Quick question...if the first hull is funded in 2020, is it reasonable to assume service dates of 2025- for this class?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FFG(X) <-- lists likely sensors, etc.
