Best practices for ground unit creation?

I want to create several Battalion Tactical Groups for a scenario I am working on. I know the new beta of CMO changes how ground units are handled, but looking at the current production, I seem to have two options:

1. Create a Mech Inf Bde (Advanced) (#3348) and add a bunch of mounts to it to represent each platoon.
2. Create individual platoon units, and link them together as a group.

The context is that the BTG's will be ideally located by a E-8C JSTAR, and then targeted with F-15E's. I have a hunch that having individual platoons may be more realistic, both for detection and for targeting (and damage) but I have not tested that yet.

I would go with option #2. It gives you a lot more flexibility and predictability. I have not looked at the new build and how it handles land formations which might help.

Be advised that an individualized orbat will have a serious effect on playability if they are on the move, or if there are simultaneous artillery fire.

As you can experience with Nukkxx "monster" scenarios :

Gaddafi's Legacy https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/ ... 2727099951

On the other hand, while there's a whole BCT deployed, I did find these scenarios very smooth to play :

ABCT Exercise https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/ ... 2731763964

If you need someone to test out how "playable" your scenario is, shoot me an MP. Here are my specs :
PC
Processor = Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz
Video Card = NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650
Operating System = Windows 10
RAM = 16 GB
Regional settings = French, Belgium
