Hi Wargamers,
Playing as Japan in 41, after attacking pearl harbour then about 5-6 turns in,I realise I am out of oil and can’t do any more sorties.
Checking my supply lines it seems fine but I am not sure why I ran out of oil or replace them.

Things to check...
1) A lot of ships should be sitting in port most of the time...if always sailing you will surely run out. Same issue occurs for Germany in WarPlan Europe if they just keep flying planes, attacking with armor and sailing all their ships.
2) IF you do not capture the DEI you will run out.

Oh you’re right about the ships. I left them out after pear@ habour guest that must have been what was eating them up.
What is DEI? How do I get more oil?

Dutch East Indies...
All the Oil around Singapore
You need to capture those locations so you can get it shipped back to Japan.
And keep those shipping lanes open.
Even ships without supply will use oil...

You need to follow the historical path. Japan invaded Borneo on Dec 15th, 1941.
Plenty of oil fields there.

Chee...SO after playing WP for multiple years I am still learning things...not sure HOW I missed this.
But as Japan basically you use your air turn 1 then STOP.
Tactical air uses 3 per attack
Ground support uses 2 per attack
They will eat up ALL your oil until you can get the whole of DEI.
This even happens if your air unit is a 1/20...that will use up just as much oil as a 20/20...
So basically a Tactical air uses the same oil in one turn as 3 CVs being at sea.
