I have been seriously thinking on funding a ladder club in anticipation for EIA tcp/IP play. This would consist of a dedicated server with secure online database, as well as forums, chat, etc.

I am wonder if there are any extra suggestions, or rants before I start.

Maybe waiting a little bit might be in order. There was some concern in another thread about cheating. We have absolutely no word about this. Will it be easy to cheat? Will it be hard? Or will it be absolutely impossible to cheat?

Answers to this issue are imperative as who would possible want to get onto a ladder if it is easy to cheat? -Cheaters would, I guess.

Personally, I avoid ladders like the plague. I just don't see a good reason for them. Friendly games are a different animal altogether. The thought of playing against folks who just want to climb that ladder ruin a game, in my opinion.

I post this because I would hate for you Pippin to go through all that work and spend all that money until this great unknown is finally known. Perhaps Matrix might de-classify and release some more information in the coming days.

Ladders suck, don't even bother. Besides, Pippin-head, if you have that much money, send it my way.

I'm not much for ladders, myself...but I won't go as far as saying they suck.

Sounds like an interesting idea. I would consider joining.

Who was being "rude"? Pippin's post was inviting all opinions, including "rants" which I was not even near to doing. If my first post seemed negative, and I don't understand why that offends anyone, perhaps Pippin should have only asked for "positive" responses to avoid stepping on anyone's toes. A forum is for pros and cons last I heard. I didn't come to make any enemies so I hope this clears that up. Peace, brutha.
