Dug-in vs Fortified

Post by Emx77 »

During scenario creation we may choose following options for Defence: None, Dug-in, Fortified, Dug-in+Fortified. What is difference between Dug-In and Fortified? For example, for Dug-in option we can clearly see earthwork and sandboxes around units and vehicles. However, if I choose Fortified or Dug-in+Fortified, there is no graphical representation of improved defensive positions or anything similar on a terrain during gameplay.

I agree with you that the current version cannot find the figure of the trench and the figure of the fortification is too monotonous. I hope the future version can be improved.

As I understand it, dug-in is the units having individual protection and fortified allows you to place tank traps etc

Dug-in and fortification option are only possible for defending faction.

Dug-in: Allows units to start from earthwork and sandboxes around itself.
Fortification: Allows defending faction to purchase obstacles (mine field, AT obstacles, wires, pillbox) from purchase screen. From purchase screen, check a button beside artillery button, you could find obstacle button.
Dug-in + Fortification: Allow both

Note that Dug-in option does NOT allow to purchase obstacles.
