Ah, I see what you meant! Fair point - that might be tricky to work around.
I'd certainly like to see that option for transports. I think the bigger issue in AB in terms of mounting/dismounting at the moment is that dismounts are "married" to their vehicles - and at the moment, it seems like it'd have to be a pretty major reworking of how mechanized units are currently handled in order for them to be able to mount anything other than their original vehicle.
But I'm hopeful that someday, we might see that implemented
Unfortunately the system right now doesn't support a believable bicycle/cavalry soldier system lol. Vehicles don't support custom vehicle sounds or Sprite sheets, so bicycles and horses will be a. floaty, static looking transports and b. sound like vehicles lol, as well as have the aforementioned issues. If they're treated as infantry, they can use sprite sheets and animations would be more organic, but they'd be forced to fight from bicycle/horseback.
Also to mention there's no multi turret support, which means that tanks like the 7TP dw./Vickers 6-ton type A., T-28, T-35, Neubaufahrzeug, etc. would have fundamental issues as well, along with tanks with rear facing MGs in their turrets.
I agree with ya about the dismounted infantry. I'd like to see them become their own element on dismount to allow them to use platoon formations and SOPs, as well as have the ability to use other vehicles when they're orphaned by a destroyed original transport so they retain their mobility. Then again I have so many ideas for AB I could write a book lol, it has so much untapped potential and I really hope the fire burns for AB for a looooong time.
Wow, its like logging into the 90's around here. Who designed this forum and placed these moronic arbitrary restrictions on new members, some long since fired AOL flunky from 30 years ago?
I picked this up during the Steam launch and immediately started working on WWII graphics for AFV's and infantry. I'd love to post some WIP pics but said restrictions prevent it. Whomever runs this forum is shooting themselves in the foot with regards to these moronic restrictions on new members that no one else anywhere has.
Visited this forum hoping to see a thread on ww2 mod...glad to see things seem to be happening. Would love to see some sprites...And will look for further updates. Thanks to all for the work!
