First time here - downloaded Steel Panthers and It's pretty much FUBR colorwise - I have a new Win 7 machine - could that be it? I dummied the color to see if that was the prob - any other ideas!

I'm PUMPED that I found this place as an old AH gamer (I played the original Gettysburg with rectangle pieces).

You are in the wrong forum for Steel Panthers. There is a thred in the SPWAW forum that tells you how to fix it.

YES, the culprit is Windows7 and there is a "fix" for it that can be found at the Blitz site and at SP Depot. It is not a perfect fix and I don't have SP on my hard drive for that reason. Doesn't sound like there will be perfect compatibility for Win7.
My goal is to find a used laptop with XP on it to maintain my Steel Panthers fix.

Would . . .dare I say . . .it work on Vista?   And - what forum is this???
