Scenario's
Does anyone have a spread sheet listing all the scenario's? I have my own going but that's a pain doing from scratch. I just finished one for Operational Art of War and I don't want to go thru that again.
On the subject of scenario's can anyone recommend some small-medium ones that includes helicopters and ATG missile's? Also what ones are good just for armor? I know Arab-Isreal Wars Scenario #3 was a good one for that.

RE: Scenario's
Hello alwaysdime, there's a compete scenario listing in the Manual, see Chapter 9.
Neat 1980s scenarios with Gunships and ATGM teams are, to begin with, Teaching Set 1982, then the Crisis in Sirte scenarios, Tournament B scenarios, and Duel in Golan scenarios. There's others as well, but these come first to my mind.
Lots of tank battles as well, look for any Golan Heights scenario, obviously. Valley of Tears 1-7 are such, for instance, But there's so many more. Any tank commander can do worse than buy this game for a plethora of historical tank action, imho [:)]

Does H2H/SIDE A means "better played as side A" or "side A" has the first turn ?
Does H2H means it's suitable for PBEM or hot seat ?
Does H2H/SIDE A means it's not suitable to be played as side B ?

[*] H2H means balanced for human-vs-human play, that can be PBEM, LAN, or Hot Seat
[*] SIDE A / SIDE B means balanced to play as the mentioned side.
If multiple codes, for instance H2H/SIDE A, means balanced for those two options.

I am not sure if the scenario design template is included in the manual, it probably is, but here's Jason's post from our Dev Forum:

Created by Jason Petho
This document serves as a general guideline for filling out the Scenario Information when creating a new scenario for the Modern Wars. Hopefully this will provide some consistency in the future introductions.
Scenario files naming convention:

As_Suez_1982.org
As_Suez_1982.map

If there are more than one battles in the same location use the following:
As_Suez_1_1982.scn
As_Suez_2_1982.scn
If you have a H2H and AI version of the same scenario, use the following:
As_Suez_1982.scn <------- H2H

6 October, 1973
[El Firdan, Suez Canal, Egypt]: [H2H] [HIS] [CSL]:
At 1405 on 6 October, the Egyptian armies opened with a devastating artillery barrage.
Nearly 2,000 artillery and mortar pieces, 1,000 tanks, and 1,000 anti-tank guns pounded the Bar-Lev line. Within 15
minutes, the first wave of Egyptian infantry crossed the canal, by-passed the forts, and moved inland to establish defensive
positions.
With the forts of the Bar-Lev line surrounded and under assault, the Israeli's readied their local tank forces
to immediately counterattack and relieve the garrisons. The tactical successes of the 1967 War gave the Israeli's overconfidence in
their tank heavy forces... leaving new lessons to be learned.

Is there is a generic AI if no Adaptive AI option is listed?

Yes there is. Adaptive AI means the AI Engine has a database (the ai files) as basis for its decision making. With Adaptive AI OFF, the AI Engine defaults to its "classic" behaviour.
Adaptive AI database is build to be nation and era specific, so there's far more variation to AI triggered events and behaviour than what otherwise would be the case.

RE: Scenario's
Even though not marked specifically for "best H2H" or "best vs. [this or that] AI", there are many scenarios that will give you quite the challenge, be very hard to beat even, especially if you the human are the attacker. Attacker AI is generally weaker, ofcourse.
Anyway, all scenarios are playable vs. the AI, to greater or lesser player satisfaction.

Something I have to try out... editing, modifying and creating scenarios is so much fun... hardly time to play (went through the bootcamp though and I am impressed about the AI so far!)ORIGINAL: Crossroads

There's the lua based Event Engine too, in addition to Adaptive AI which both you can be defined per scenario [:)]
i'd be more than happy to assist with your Tutorial ´50 scenario(s), to get those included too!

Is it documented anywhere the scenarios that utilize the event engine stuff. I believe Crossroads mentioned the Sirte ones, any others?

The CS Event Engine being a late addition to the game kit, there wasn't sufficient time to apply it to most of the scenarios. That will happen over time. Expect to see more and fuller EE implementations in future CSME updates.
In the meantime, we will endeavor to apply the CSEE in full to all scenarios for VN, EF III and all future games going forward.
Don't forget to check out manual/CSEEHowTo.pdf.
