It's been a few years and no announcements of any new Close Combat games being in development. Maybe the series is dead. The basic game engine could be used to make all kinds of new games for different wars going back hundreds of years.

It is my understanding that Slitherine does have plans for future Close Combat games, but they would be the ones to make an annoucements about what they are, when they are ready to do so.

Hopefully a further development of the "old style" 2d engine is considered?
A similar 2d top down ww2 game (inferior to CC in all aspects) is going through a rebirth because it was adjusted so it can be played on a tablet or smartphone.
Maybe matrix could look into that market?
