Ok

Running list of Problem maps

1. Point du Hoc
2. Longuevi
3. portb crashes - mooxe (confirmed - but can create and play custom non mmcc3 battles)
4. Sthonor
5. Lingev
6. INBasly

So far all are larger maps and have the same error message

All can be played in CoI with a custom battle... so whay won't MMCC3 allow them to play.... Looking

I'm also seeing the deployment area not accurately represented in map screen prior to the battle starting. I often see the correct shape of the area however it is displayed in the middle of the map.

Running at 1280x1024 but I've noticed it on other resolutions as well.

I think this is a combination of two issues.

1. CC3/CoI doesn't like Tall thin maps prefers wide screen mode .

2. The large CC5 sized map used here

I haven't a clue what dopusrt.exe is so I googled it:

"Directory Opus Helper Application. Directory Opus is a File Manager replacement for Windows Explorer which supports a truly wonderful range of features including built-in image and file viewers, synchronization of folders, advanced search and rename functions, a large range of display views, slideshows, image conversion, hotkeys, and multi-tasking. This particular program, the Helper Application, runs in the background whenever you open Directory Opus, and performs a number of tasks in the background on behalf of Directory Opus - it is critical to the speed of Directory Opus and the ability of Directory Opus to allow you to do other files and folders manipulations at the same time that a large folder is being copied, for example.

You will also see this entry on the Startups tab (with /dblclk at the end of the launch command and a startup name : Directory Opus Desktop Dblclk) where its prime purpose is to have this program running in the background at Windows boot-up so that you can start Directory Opus at any time by double-clicking anywhere on an empty space on your Windows desktop."

Something to do with your PC?

What should happen is

A Browser window opens and a dialogue box asks you if you want to download the file.

Dundradel

See if you can pinpoint which maps that is happening on re: the two Javea error posts #61 and #67

I get the same error with the maps below any time ... not just after barrage or more troops

2. Longuevi
3. portb crashes

Ok

Update on the maps.

I have Jville, PortB and Longuevi fixed now.

Please browse to your \maps folder and delete all six Jville, PortB and Longuevi files.

When the server resets itself you should be able to DL the replacements.

I've sent notice to Paladin to check the other problem maps, so this should be fixed soon.

Opus is what I use instead of Windows Explorer. So it seems that MMCC3 doesn't like me not using Explorer? I've never had any other problems.

So it would seem. Why? I have no idea. All it should be doing (the Server) is passing a URL to the Client (you) from the maps.txt file (on the Server), and your OS should automatically launch whatever process is used to open a URL (which would be IE by default on Windows installations which have not been changed).

What happens if you type a URL into your Start...Run... dialog?

Something interesting....

I run Win XP. I use Safari for a browser. When I type a URL...Safari launches and starts to display the page...but then crashes telling me it can't find the URL and I need to double-check the address yet the window opens and the page starts to load...

So someone who's not using my unique setup should test it out as well.

I notice that the D/L Link is not an http but an ftp URL.

Try typing this into the Start..Run.. dialog:

ftp://ftp.matrixgames.com/pub/closecomb ... 3/Beek.zip

p.s. It works fine for me (XP with IE as default Browser).
