Kind of getting frustrating; after 15 or more battles, both as German or Allied, the campaign crashes and returns to desktop with generic message asking if I want to report to Microsoft.

I have Vers. 5.50.07. I am running XP Pro.

Is there a beta patch or anything that can keep this from happening? Again this is on EVERY campaign I start and play.

Can't upload the file you requested. Error saying from website that it does not like the 'fakepath'. Is there another way to do this?

Also, we have done this before but this crash still happens. You have given me a work around on a file before by changing a unit in the unit selection screen. Was hoping that there was a permanent fix.

You had a problem with the bazooka previously if i remember correctly.

Does that fix it this time?

Good memory, yes the Bazooka was the problem. Changing the Bazooka worked last time. Not sure what it is now. I am playing the Germans and I have changed some of the units to no avail. Is there a reason this is happening? Just did it again, now in a mod; I am playing the Bulge mod for TLD as the Germans.

What is the reason for this and am I the only one who can't complete a campaign?

I'm having a very similar problem:

Grand campaign, playing as Germans.

Quite a late turn. Merville Battery map - counter-attack by 21 Panzer (Paras have been stuck there since turn 1).

After playing a couple of battles with the 21 Panzer BG, suddenly now there is crash to desktop a few seconds into the battle every single time. A 'Close Combat Executable has stopped working' message comes up, windows trys to and fails to find a solution and closes the programme.

Any help?

It turns out it was the half-tracks and armoured cars I was using - when I removed them from the roster and kept only a field gun and Marder it worked fine ... I guess that means the half-track and armoured car units are bugged?

Huh? This sounds odd.

I also have a GC that ended with a crash and then crashes TLD immediately when trying to restart the campaign with the saved game. Message: "Close Combat Engine Executable has stopped working". I can start new games without issue.

I get a "not supported" error when I try to upload the saved game, but can e-mail it.

Do you have the patch installed?
