The Russian Maxim scores a hit on my Rifle squad in the open and scores a hit.
I play an Auto Rally card on him.

My Elite squad fires on the Maxim ahead of it.
I was hoping for some kind of hit to allow a charge on the final Victory hex with my Elites.
No such luck, the Maxim holds.

My Veteran squad pivots and fires upon the Russians adjacent to him.
They score a hit.
The Russian squad is eliminated with subsequent fire from the German Lmg.

The Russian player holds the farmhouse with good order units and I have no hope of capturing it.
My 2 Rifle squads in the barns fire upon the Rifle squad in the open.
They each hit and the Russian Rifle is destroyed.

I take a couple more shots at the Maxim in the open, but they have no effect.
And this is how the game ends.

Casualties:
2 Russian Rifle squads
1 Russian Irregular

Congrats Junk on the victory.
It was well played and thanks again.

It was fun to play this scenario head to head.
The Russian has quantity, but the German has quality.
My Elite Rifle squad chewed up 4 Russian squads when it got into the thick of it.

Although some of my squads got quite lucky.
Most of them had to move recklessly due to the short number of turns and a lot of them were ambushed by hidden Russians.
With a couple of better rolls, Junk could've really thrown a wrench into the works on the German side.
As the Russian started taking the casualties, his number of CAPs dropped and this hampered him.

I think to balance this for head to head, some Victory points for hexes should be removed from the Russian for the first 2 turns.
It was allowed to score to give the AI an early lead.
The farmhouse is worth 2 pts, and each barn is worth 1 pt.
So I would suggest to remove 4 to 6 pts off the Russian total in a head to head game.

Thanks to Jamm for making content for the rest of us and for playing with me.

This started out fairly well for me but went downhill at the end. My units seemed to have good LOS even though the map is covered with wheatfields. At the end of turn 2, we took a break, Jamm got disconnected but it had saved automatically. I had the initiative, moved something and found that we could not reconnect. I quit for the night and we started up the next night from the save. Strangely the initiative was to the Germans this time. I mentioned this to Jamm and he graciously passed so that I could go first.

Russian units have very poor percentages on shots and not many CAPs. The last turn started with -3 CAP and my Maxims only showed 8 or 16% chances. Rifles were in the 2-16% range. I took my chances and used up all my AP and a couple of Free Action cards without doing any damage, then waited out the end. It is frustrating. Even though I won in the end, the feeling of helplessness and despair weighs over joy of playing a game. I don't know how the AI as Russian does so well against me LOL.

I recommend that for H2H, the more experienced player take the Russians, or agree to switch sides and play again.

I played this on easy vs the Soviet AI. I took the two forward VLs on the last turn but did not get credit dagnabit. The AI left its cozy hexes and tried an attack. I killed a few but it did delay my movement enough to beat me.

This really is excellent work, both in terms of the firefight creation, and even more so in the very detailed and great looking AAR.

Great job!
