Hello Everyone,

The Distant Worlds 1.9.5.10 Beta Update is now available for testing for Registered owners through our Members Club. You may download it from Here.



This build has the following changes from 1.9.5.9:


BUG FIXES

- bases built at planets/moons/asteroids no longer detach when built by improvised construction ships (e.g. Exploration ships) that use a subrole other than 'Construction Ship'
- ship captain characters now have their skills and traits revealed after their first battle
PIRATES
- pirate bases with Gravity Well Projectors will now properly stop all enemy ships, not just other pirates
- pirate income from controlled colonies is now never negative, even when colony has negative revenue (i.e. colony maintenance upkeep greater than income)
- maintenance costs for each troop unit now properly shown in Troops screen when playing as pirate
- in pirate missions panel in Empire Navigation Tool, now properly show Defend missions when "Showing Available Missions" and "Showing All Missions Types" (when playing as pirate)
- pirate factions now properly process *owned* colonies so that the following activities occur: troops recruited, population growth rates vary, luxury resources ordered, population race bonuses applied, etc
- pirate resort bases now properly cleaned up when destroyed

OTHER

- Ships and Bases screen now remembers last filter setting
- added troop strength summary to hover tip in Selection Panel when Colony selected and hovering mouse over 'Troops' line

EDIT: Eric, was the #256 component "bug" due to an 8bit limit?

I really want to thank you for the exceptional support of this product. I payed about 90€ for the game but it is worth every Cent. Every Add On made it better and it is now the most played game in my life. Thanks also to the great mods out there!

Thank you very much for the support of this software up to this date. I ranted a bit some times ago, but i see here that you listened to the modders and still do very useful things for us.

hmm, it might be the wrong place to wish for something in future but anyway, i will try:

- is it possible to remember the filter setting in the ships and bases screen?
- could you change the behavior of the ESC button so that we can exit the opened windows one by one and not show up the options menue?
- could you make us zoom out to see the whole galacy? when i look for i.e. scouts that are on the rim of the galaxy, those blimps are not showing up because they are on the upper or lower side of the screen. just because not the whole galacy is shown.
-please make more use of the righht mouse button; when a message is shown that some ship is under attack, let with a right click the object just be selected. then we can see where the ship is located. this would also be nice for the text messages on top.

+1 Especially on the rembering filters thing. I really miss that :(

It has been roughly 3 1/2 weeks since the beta announcement for this patch, any updates on progress to an official release or are there still major bugs to be worked out?

I think you can enable betas on steam. Check in the properties for distant worlds.

WOO!! Keep up the great work guys, I was hoping for an earlier release, like what was hinted at in the original post but I do understand bugs crop up that just slam you and NEED to be squashed before release. In the end I think this will make the modders (and us) very happy to get this out so work can continue :)
