Heavy rail gun obsolete

Just researched improved rail guns and since that time the heavy rail gun is now obsolete. As it's a different weapon (or should be) it should not be classified as obsolete when designing ship.

Why isn't it software????? If I'm not mistaken someone has made an error in coding in such that when the improved rail gun is developed it makes the heavy rail gun obsolete. That's software, not design and certainly not a point.

as we in tech support don't do coding, developers do, while some developers do tech support in some forums sections, some don't, so while feel free to ask any question here you like, some just may or may not get replied to, unless a developer see it's and wishes to reply, the chances others or they may see it are more in main, but leave it here, it may get a response, it may not is all i was saying tbh.
regarding coding, some things in all games are by design and not errors as such, so it's an opinion if one see it's as an error while others see it as design, good luck anyway
for me still main or maybe wishlist may get a better answer / answer
