Greetings everyone!

I have just posted a preliminary episode for a new Youtube series I'm planning to get started on shortly.

This series will feature Icemania's AI Improvement Mod (1.04) with the Shakturi Story Lines enabled.

For this initial episode, I have reviewed all the settings I plan to use for the series. Let me know in the comments (or here) what you think and be sure to make any suggestions on the game setup I've outlined. Series should officially kick off sometime in the last week of January 2015. 

This should be fun (with a side order of painful!)... [:D]

Difficulty: Extreme (No scaling near victory)

Research: Expensive (240k)

Colony Influeunce Range: 106%
Enforce Colonization Range Limit: 1.50 Sectors

Other Empires: 19 (6 Average Distance, 13 Distant)

Victory Conditions: 95% of 90%/90%/90%
All Story events enabled - including the Return of the Shakturi

Giant Kaltors Allowed

I'll be recording the first official episode tomorrow morning (Jan 28). Any suggestions on game setup and Empire Name will have to be submitted by then. (Although I think I have the settings pretty much nailed down for the series at this point...)

No, I just played the first 20-25 game years in my test games... just enough to see my immediate surroundings, etc. I purposely didn't play any further than that. So the new improved Shakturi will likely scare the living crap out of me when I get to see them. LOL

Okay dude trust me here you will REALLY need a World Destroyer for the Shakturi homeworld ... and a diversion ... in a likely act of pure desperation. It doesn't matter if you are down to your last planet, you just need to snipe their homeworld.

Sniping their HomeWorld is the only way I've won against them. Mind you, I rarely play that story line these days. Good thing too as I'm enjoying the fresh approach to the game as a good change from the usual. [8D]

To be honest with you it's difficult to stay interested in such a disjointed series.

Hopefully the problem is simply that Icemania's mod has given him a good hiding.

Hey everyone.

Sorry for the sudden silence. Everything is fine. I just haven't been around the computer much lately and that likely won't change for the duration of the summer. Been travelling/camping on my bicycle and it's been hard to slow down long enough to even play any games - let alone record anything.

Also, my ISP is still crap. My last attempt to upload to YT saw less than 5kb/s so I still have to deal with that. I'll be upgrading my ISP but will be waiting for the Fall before I do that as it will be an added monthly expense for something I likely won't be using for the next several months.

Agreed. This is why I figured I'll just wait for the Fall to continue - very hard to follow with sporadic episodes. I know long breaks like this are pretty much YouTube suicide but I will be back eventually. [:)]

As per your play throughs... It looks like you have the outdoors set on "Extreme" difficulty!
When my two boys get older, I would love to do the same.
