[Question] Is it possible to change the main menu background image?

I found no way so far doing this but maybe somebody around here knows more on the matter?
I only found a small version of the image in the ui images folder called "smallTitle.jpg".
Any help is appreciated thanks

Unfortunately I believe it is hardcoded into the game.

Yes
Images folder. You make one.
customBackgroundImage.jpg 1280x720
The DasRetreatBacon mod does this.

I assume this does not work outside of the DasRetreatBacon mod

I don't think the bacon exe modifies anything BUT...
Whatever mod you start the game in will be the background for all other mods (if you switch) until you reload the game. For example if I start the game in DasRetreatBacon I will get that background screen and if I change theme to AI Improvement it will stay the DasRetreatBacon background. Conversely if I start the game vanilla the screen will stay vanilla even if I switch out to DasRetreatBacon.
I don't know why but that's what happens to me. So yes I believe you can create menu background images with minor limitations.

Custom background title screen is a feature of the Bacon mod. It won't work without it.

You can just use the Bacon mod and disable all the other features.
