can anyone tell me why the image that i made from reshading a different component will not work I use a windows program that lets you alter a picture's colors it works in-game and when i try to use another component it sucsessfly uses that image even if that image is from a mod when i line the numbers up what am i doing wrong please help

I'm unsure if I understand your question, but make sure it's saved as a bmp file for one. Also for components you should include the folder images\ui\components in your theme. Size might matter too. 32x32 is standard though there are variations.

When something isn't right the game defaults back to the original game image automatically.

for some reason, it worked when i changed the resources used to make it I used one of the games armor components idk why it worked and i would like to make sure that i know what i did wrong

its a arrow on the tech tree that leads to nowhere
