database problem

Post by Jagger2002 »

Ok, I used the database to create a gebirgsjager and a standard jager battalion. Used the scenario editor to put them into a scenario. All looks good. Units have correct subunits and ammo. Then I start the game. One unit with a Milan will fire the milan. All other platoons refuse to fire and apparently can't spot the Russians. The Russians refuse to fire at them as well. It is as if the only subunit, friendly and enemy, that can see is the milan. Other subunits refuse to fire.

During troubleshooting, I started over. I made one single change and tested again. The change was adding an existing milan subunit to an existing platoon. Saved and tested. Exact same problem.

Anybody have any idea what might cause database subunits to lose the ability to recognize enemy units or be recognized by enemy units.

I have been troubleshooting this off and on for a week and I am about to give up on it unless someone has any ideas.

Thanks. Trying to figure out why it wasn't working was starting to drive me a little nuts. I will send it later this afternoon or tonight.

Try to get me screen shots outlining the problem as well. I'm not fully understanding the problem in the first post and a picture is worth a thousand words as they say. Thanks.

Ok Capt Darwin, I sent everything to Charles and asked him to forward to you. Thanks for taking a look at the problem. If you need additional information, let me know.

Turns out my game installation was slightly corrupted. Charle's copy of the test scenario and modded database worked fine on his machine but mine did not. So I re-installed the game and 2.0.11 update. Then I ran the test scenario again with modded database and all worked great. Seems my installed game ran fine for the most part but there was some corruption within the game. With the new installation, all is well.

So I am good to go and thanks for all the help!
