Fighting Like The Soviets

Post by Mad Russian »

Long ago and far away a short summary was written on how to fight like the Soviets.

https://sites.google.com/site/bongotast ... he-soviets

Still has as much validity as it did when it was originally written; oh so long ago.

I remember back in the day the old Assault system had Soviet battle drill doctrine built into the rules and penalized the Soviet player by quickly burning command points if you tried to maneuver sub-units too much.

Rule #1, 1st sentence: "You have to forget any kind of individuality". Case in point... look at some photos of Soviet/WP troops training with NBC gear on. There were two types of protective masks worn by Soviet troops, those with voice transmitters (NCO's & officers), and those without (everyone else). Privates did not have a voice and were only supposed to do what they were told.
