Keselring upgrade questions

Luftwaffe 2 withdraws late Nov 41, along with Albert and his #8 air management.

From what I can tell, Luftwaffe 2 never returns to the Russian theater.

Q 1: does Albert become available to use again in the future?

or should he be given an army group command before he is shipped west?

If given an army command, (from what I can tell) (at turn early nov 41), his hq transfer would open up the Luftwaffe 2 hq to a very poor air commander Bulowius 5 5 4 6 5 air who in normal turns would need a promotion 35ap. ( GL Bulowius is the sole air commander option as all the other air commanders are already in command (when viewing choices for a change in Luftwaffe 2 command)

Q 2: If albert is chosen to lead an army hq, will the successor Bulowius be the one to assume command of Luftwaffe 2 as he is the only one available? Will this procedure result in a 35ap promotion cost or is this one of those free promotions?

If you pick Kesselring for another command the AI will auto-select a new commander for Luftflotte 2 for no AP cost to you. It is the idea behind the leader swapping circle as described here: fb.asp?m=4601308

If you are worried about losing Kesselring when Luftwaffe2 withdraws that is not a problem. In my experience every time Luftwaffe 2 withdraws while Kesselring is in charge, he simply appears in the pool of commanders unassigned next turn.

so

I did the move making Kesselring head of army group. The auto replace system picked the replacement Luftwaffe 2 air commander and picked Bulowius. I think I saw a promotion and ap's disappear.

interesting.

I assign Kesselring as commander of Army Group B once AGS splits, usually replacing Halder, who gets cashiered at every opportunity.
