Air freight drop bug

Ive noticed that I CAN drop freight. It will show the plans flying mission and then how many supplies it will drop {note it never says fuel or ammo or freight even if it is flying to an airbase, just supplies}

I can do it a couple times and it even shows some plane groups with percent flown.

Then I keep trying to do missions, with available miles air groups and it shows the mission "sort of" happening, but then it just doesnt fly freight. I can do this over an over ad finitum and no supplies are dropped and no planes get higher mileage.

ANyone else having this issue?

You have to have freight for the transports to pick up to fly out. Your first couple of missions can deplete the starting point, so when you try to fly them with no freight available, they don't do anything.

Oh really? That makes total sense of course.

So, then, should you make sure you have a depot in the same hex? Or, can they draw from a nearby depot? Because not every airbase is on a city that can have a depot.

What is the parameter for it? Is it ONLY freight in the hex?

Not sure how far they can draw from for sure, but closer the better. I have seen them draw from same hex and adjacent.

Ok, great help. THank you.

I notice before you said you had to left click a rally air base first. Can this be one they draw from ? Or is the point the birds take off from?

Usually I will try to use a staging base close to the drop zone, I have not tried using the start point as staging. My understanding is that the freight will be drawn from the area where the transports will take off from.
