Applying mods to stock scenarios

Post by Majick »

Hi All,

I would like to apply the realistic smoke mod to the stock scenarios. I remember on Gettysburg it was necessary to save back the stock scenarios in the scenario creator.

Is this the case with Waterloo, and if so, how do I save back a scenario as my own? (I'm not seeing a scenario editor right now, just the sandbox)

Apologies if I've missed something obvious!

Hi Majick

Here you can find the link to the SDK documents, original scenarions files to mods and the scenario editor tm.asp?m=3923552 .

Is a external tool which simplify much the time necessary to create scenarios respect Gettysburg.

I've copied the SDK into the game directory, and I must admit to being totally lost by the instructions. All I want to do is enable a smoke mod and use it with the stock scenarios.

I know that I can't simply run a stock scenario from the waterloo battles button and get the effect of the smoke mod (although I fail to see why that should be the case, it doesn't seem much to ask!)

So I'm having to go through the rigmorole of using the SDK to replicate every stock scenario just to use mods with them. Not happy having to do that but I'm giving it a go as it worked with Gettysburg.

The SDK base folder has a scenarios folder with all the stock scenarios. If I move the scenario I want to play to the game base scenarios folder and start it as a user scenario I get level error messages etc. If I move it to the Modules folder, as the SDK instructions seem to suggest there doesn't appear to be any option to start the scenario in game.

What is the procedure for simply saving a scenario from SDK/Base/Scenarios to somewhere where it can be played within the game?

Thanks

Jon

I never tried the smoke mod so I don't know what requires (usually for only graphical mods you need only to activate them because have not link with the scenarios files), anyway in order to play one of stock scenarios as a Mods, create a directory inside the MODS directory of game with the name you want, inside this create a directory Scenarios and copy inside the stock scenarios directories you find inside the SDK zip. You activate this mod in order to have the mods scenario inside the user scenarios screen.
