Strategic Command New Version Available (v1.00.10)

Hello Everyone

A new Strategic Command beta build is now available. v1.00.10

Please refer to Tamas' earlier forum post ("How to download the latest beta build") for how to download this

tm.asp?m=4105056

Please uninstall all previous versions before installing v1.00.10

Save games from v1.00.09 should work with this build (but note this will not be the case when 1.00.11 is released so you may want to start thinking about finishing any campaigns you have running)

The key addition to this build is that the new style UI is now almost fully implemented and we'd especially appreciate your feedback on that. Note that the Reports menu is currently 'locked' as this has not been 'upgraded yet.

For other changes and addition please refer to the Patch Notes for details (as usual Hubert and Bill have been very busy!).

As before the Essential Guide (draft version) is now available in German, Spanish and French (as well as English). This can be found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Matrix Games\Strategic Command - WWII War in Europe\Manuals (assuming you opted for the default installation)

Please note this is a debug build so there will be performance improvements 'down the line' as we get close to release.

Finally, there is an interesting thread on Russia and encirclements - I was wondering if anyone else had any views on tm.asp?m=4152732&mpage=1

We hope you enjoy this new version and look forward to your feedback

regards
Ben Wilkins

I notice that there's a registry cleaner of some kind that you can download.

I'm assuming that I don't need it if I uninstalled 1.000.9 and used Iobit for a deep clean and registry purge.

(I hate being bombarded by their ads, but they do a pretty good job of scraping residual bits of things out of places I really don't like to go -- regedit scares the heck out of me because I'm far too comfortable with it).

I downloaded with FileZilla 3.21.0 with no issues. Uninstalled older version and installed 1.00.10. Started and all seemed to be ok. Will continue with the test. I also saw the reg clean but did not use it.

Save game from 1.00.09 works except for the statistics in the report menu, they're gone/lost and they don't show up again after combat, no big deal though.

Hmmm, I guess the report screen has been temporally disabled and is under works as it doesn't show after starting a new game.

Hi,

Noticed a few things, real quick as a start
The 3d units are a lot easier to see on the map now
Why does the computer player(AI) use a base on the 3d Icons, if not selected? also 3d bases show up sometimes on mu units for some units, when I don't have them selected, for some units that have moved and some that haven't.
****I couldn't select the Reports menu during Operation Barbosa playing as Germany during my turn. Not highlighted

I see the Reports issue now
I can't wait to see the new Reports, this is important to me.

I would like to see in the unit Properties a WW II picture of the unit type and the real life headcount of the unit at full strength.

- fixed several tool tip errors for screens such as SETTINGS, ADVANCED OPTIONS etc.

Couple of things I noticed so far:

When you click on a unit and scroll to zoom in it goes to the left and up from the unit so it ends up bottom right just outside of view.

Like the info boxes that pop up when you look at research.

Miss the max reinforcement button that is gone so you have to build units up one point at a time.

Like to see more decisions, events choices. Like that a lot.

Is there a Tripoli in French Syria just above Beirut?? or is that a typo.
