Why are number of shells for A-A units all greyed out?

And not subject to tech tweaks/increases? As it is now, they'll get 3 all war long, no more, and no less, making them arguably overpowered in the early war. Would appear to be easy peasy to turn that on.

Just to clarify, is there a bug in the engine, or is it that you're asking for Anti-Aircraft units to be allowed to be upgraded to higher levels of AA in the official campaigns that come with the game?

A "feature" where the # of shells for AA guns is not amenable to change in the editor (all greyed out). Their other stats CAN be upgraded, just not this set.

Thanks for the clarification, it is possible to adjust it so that the number of strikes could be adjusted, but internally it would not be like artillery, where unused strikes accumulate like they do as shells for artillery. It is just a different unit type handled differently.
Essentially so many strikes per turn, and then reset to the max strike value on the next turn.
I can add it to the list, just not sure when or if we'll change it with so much else going on, on our end.

And to clarify further, to your point, it probably should act more like an artillery unit with set shells... it is just not something that has ever come up before and was just an easier implementation of a 'reactionary' unit type, that doesn't otherwise attack, like what 'strikes' are normally for, so the value didn't apply.
It just does an AA run whenever applicable as a defensive unit in game.

I've just seen bomber offensives absolutely shredded in other people's AARs as the AA's get their 3 shots turn after turn after turn, when Arty units have to wait to reload. Make them editable and that can indeed be amended on the scenario designer's side (down to 2 per turn no matter what, or 3 total but they have to be reloaded), is all I am saying.
