Hi all,
My Army friend and neighbor got very ill and we had to suspend the game for months. He feels much better now and wants to continue to play – for therapy. Well, that’s what he tells his wife. He does not want to restart the game (you’ll soon see why when I begin posting again). Mark is Axis and adopted my attack on France. Six Panzers, so I’m doomed. He is NOT taking any chances as in our first game with him as Axis, where his very early successes slowed down and were worn down:

As a refresher, I defeated him a second time with me as Axis. In that contest, I kept diplomacy to a minimum, not even getting Finland on my side. I concentrated on technology, and the smaller frontage enabled me to chew up his opposing forces:

This contest is just to complete a promise I made to play three times AND because of the glint in his eyes (which I haven’t seen since he was ill) as he hammers me. Fortunately for me, he cannot drink my Cognac nor smoke his revolting cigars.

In any event, same rules as before – try to be as historically accurate as possible, with a third-party referee for disputes (we never needed him once in any game). In other words, no shifting your airforce to an unattainable position and let your country be ruined and no hiding your U-Boats until they are at a tech level where they literally sweep the ocean clean of capital ships and stack subs end-to-end so deep the Germans can walk to London.

I know our game is old compared to much newer AAR ones, so I will cut back on my commentary so it becomes an easy (and fast) read for those who care to follow.
