Recently I cannot run the game, both original and breakthrough. (Steam version)
I can run the game well without problem 2-3 weeks ago with same PC.
Now it show directx 7 dll error. (Trytorun main game)
Or not admin error. (Try to run breakthrough))
Then I run in admin mode and no error notification.
But when I run the game it just return the launcher menu.
I also try to run from game folder directly, but it still bring me to launcher menu.
(Admin mode on all exe file + launcher)

Reinstall multiple times but still not work.
Also happen with other SC classic too.

Try to download patch but I don’t think it’s relevant.
Because I can run thebgame before without a patch.

(From the time I can run until I cannot, there’s 1 window update
And some old AGEOD game installations,
(Some include directX but I think I decline them all.)

Sorry to hear about the trouble and I'd try and open up a support ticket with the helpdesk to see if they can help sort it out for you.

I get the same error. I guess a support ticket for me too.

go in to your steam, go to SCWW1, then right click on the game, click on properties, click on Local Files, then click on "Verify integrity of game files". this should do the trick. hope this works.
