Fighting opposing tanks

Post by jhpanther »

Hi,
I dont know how the AI works, but I think it should prioritize attacking opposing tanks and AT's which threaten its own tanks when they are in face of each other. In one of the Kursk campaingns I have seen 4 T34's standing in front of a Tiger where some of them attacked infantry, letting the Tiger taking them out one by one. I find that unrealistic.

The T-34 do not fire on the Tiger because the probability of killing is too low, it's totally unrealistic because they do not use special shells, thanks ASL...

Thanks for your reply. I am not into historical details about shell types and I dont know how easy it is to put rules into the AI. I also know it is impossible having an AI reacting realistic in all situations but in scenarios with tanks on both sides, it is a problem that the AI side looses its tanks to complete idiotic decisions like moving its tanks close to a well known Tiger position without probability of killing it and start fighting infantry.

Very great effort has been made on the use of fire by the IA, but very little on the movement of units by the IA.
