Also, SW xfer can be accomplished in Rally and Move phases, by selecting both units and Ctl+W

Yeh, sorry. No go on that one.

From my previous discussions with these guys, while there should, eventually be some more features to TotH, it's not ever intended to become a full eASL, unfortunately. Personally, I think that's a huge missed opportunity on their part, but since I'm not a programmer, I'm just thankful for this much. There have been posts over the years from other programmers to pitch in and help with development, but from what I can tell, their offers have not been taken up. I don't know how new you are to the game, but the biggest, desparately needed fix is for the LOS lagging in larger, scenarios to be taken care of. It makes things like desert scenarios essentially impossible; the game just slows to an almost frozen like crawl after the first couple of turns. If you haven't come across this yet, when you do, the recommended workaround for now is to use the editor to reduce the LOS to 12 or less hexes. At least with the city (Stalingrad) scenarios you have there, that shouldn't be much of problem.

Thanks for that info Michael.

I am like 2 weeks new to this game (maybe only a week, I think I picked it up on or around 25/26 Dec.). I understand the 'differences' between TotH and ASL, and of course I am using an ASL mod to view the units (I like the TotH default terrain for the most part), and its very similar to SL/ASL and it would be great to have some of the features some of long time ASL players are accustomed to.

I am slightly spoiled by programmers such as Alvaro from Warplan and Gary Grigsby (WitE/W), so I hope TotH developer still works on features besides bug fixes, I have the latest beta of this game installed.

Would be great to get early war French, Italian, Allied/Axis minors added as well as North Africa (Chapter F).

But still having fun against the poor AI lol.

Well, there mods for Africa/desert terrain as well as non-ASL unit graphics for those early and non-major country units. They're all in the Mods forum. I think someone actually gathered them altogether in one post. Been a while since I was in that forum.
Don't get me wrong, I certainly enjoy it for what it is, but it could be so much more!

Since Matrix seems to own the rights to so much of this genre, I would think the ultimate eASL would merge Toth graphics and programming with the CG engine and Close Combat graphics plus engine so that one could have both classic unit depictions as well as a real-world look from Close Combat, but first and foremost, just having the full ASL panoply would be just...heaven ! Maybe that's the problem [:D][:D]

Yes that is me, one and the same.

Edo Benveto and I worked on that together for a long while and developed a really great relationship. So sad to hear of his loss, but I heard his son picked up the mantle so to speak. Personally I (and I think Edo) got tired of some of the CH shenanigans and we did this as a labor of love.

I also play tested (with my son as well) some of the LC stuff. And I play tested a crap ton of both BFP and MMP products.

This is me, Don :D

Great Don, I was also involved and made some suggestions and tests. I also made the Berlin SASL version that Ray published way to soon. Nice to see you around here. [:)]
