I had a stack highlighted in the lower left text of the screen to fire on an enemy hex. I decided to see what units were in the enemy hex before firing. I left clicked on the enemy hex. Then I remembered I needed to right click to get the popup showing the units that were in the hex.

I then looked in the lower left of the screen that listed my firing units and none of them were highlighted anymore. So I right clicked on the enemy hex to see its contents and my units fired anyway, even though they were no longer highlighted.

I don't think they should have fired since they weren't highlighted.
