ATTACK/DEFEND HEX FEATURE

Post by UP844 »

In reply to Rousseau's post in the Le Hamel AAR thread, I have reopened the revised "Bucholz Station" scenario I used to test these features.

The US M3 halftrack and the .50 HMG have "DEFEND HEX" orders set to two adjacent hexes on the hill; the German Assault Engineers and a 1st line squad have "ATTACK HEX" orders set to a VP hex:

The HS with the .50cal arrived on turn 2. It was subsequently broken by German fire; after rallying, it attempted to regain its designated hex (since it was a test, I didn'bother with firing at it).

The German Engineers arrived at their designated hex and stopped there: they made no attempt to move further towards the other VP hexes or to the Exit hexes.

It is worth mentioning that the other German units appearing in the screenshot also had "ATTACK HEX" order for the same hex, but they didn't move after the first units entered the target hex, even though there is room for a third squad there.
