So bear with me
NZ south Island has 20 Heavy, 140 light and 140 resources. Going by the manual 1 heavy point uses 20 resources and light uses 15. 20 heavy and 140 light should then use 2500 resources per day. South island only has 140 and still manages to grow the resources by 300 each turn which is 160 more than it produces. So what am I missing? Im not sending any resources there.
Also, read a thread that says H needs 10 resources and 10 fuel, not the above, which is it?

Probably because all things flow between adjacent ports. So things are coming to south from north.
9.3.3.3 AUTOMATIC TRANSFER OF BULK CARGO BETWEEN ADJACENT PORTS
In your case, that happens between Wellington and Blenheim.

Except they are also in deficit, so I guess the answer is that things move in mysterious ways.

Or it could be that each Resource Center produces 20 resources per turn. Amazingly, that is 2800 resources each turn, exactly 300 more than the 2500 required for production.

13.2.1.1 RESOURCES AND RESOURCE CENTERS
Resources & Resource Centers – Resources are essentially all of the raw materials, except fuel,
needed by a modern country to wage war. It is a measure of raw materials taken abstractly
that equates into the production of food, clothing, ammunition, weapons, vehicles, and the like.
Resource centers therefore represent significant mines, as well as production by areas of high
population (such as agricultural production).
Resources are produced by Resource Centers. These centers are located in base hexes and
each day produce 20 Resource Points that go into storage at that location.
Resource points are a required input for light industry centers and heavy industry centers.
Resource centers do not generate supply points.
Resource centers will not produce resources if an enemy ground unit is in their hex
My bold. 140*20 = 2800 exactly 300 over the 2500 needed and the daily surplus you see.
Edit: What Nomad said. Guess i missed it, my bad.

My bad but in my defence it does say 20 Resources, which I thought meant 20 resources and not 20 resource centers
