I would like to try making a small scenario but honestly the editor confuses me is there any tutorial or does anyone have some tips?

There is an editor manual in the manuals folder located within the game installation folder.

I would recommend reading that obviously.

I learned to use the editor by reading just about every post in this Mods and Scenarios sub-forum but mainly just by using the editor.

That might sound trite but just experiment. Try different things, click things and learn through trial and error.

The editor is not as complex as it first appears.

You should back up the Campaigns folder before you do this and when loading a campaign to experiment with be sure to rename it so as not to overwrite the default campaigns that came with the game.
