Crazy idea (making the War even more widespread)

I tend to play with the 15 objectives rule. When the game ends in September/October 1945, if the Axis have more than 15 objective cities they win, less = they lose, 15 dead on the game is a tie. Keeps the game interesting for the Axis. Just surviving means you can win, and it leads to less abandoned games.

I have been thinking of making the game extend to the end of November/December 1945 with the Caveat that the USA must DOW Argentina immediatly after they are at war with Germany, Italy and Japan. Why? To have some actual fighting occur in South America. Its a whole Continent that never gets used. Silly I know but....any thoughts here?

What kind of rule is that? The regular game in MWIF lasts till end of 45JA turn, not 45SO. To keep a losing game interesting for Axis, you should consider to play a mirror game, there both players play the game twice under the same rule set, once as Allies, once as Axis, and compare their results. This leads to less abandoned games.

Under WIFCE/DOD3/some house rules there is slightly more incentive to make South America an active theater. Considering the already very high investment in time playing MWIF for just one regular game, I don't think, this should be undertaken just for the heck of it ...

My group ignored the WiF victory conditions. For one thing, the US clearly was not playing by them, preferring to bypass the victory locations in the Pacific rather than take them. So if the US wanted to declare war on Argentina, let it, with no victory penalty. In one game, the US got very lucky on entry, came in early, and took Argentina, and was working on the rest of South America. This was not decisive, but fun. (What was decisive in that game was that the Germans did horribly on entry chits, and after going for and getting the Med in 1941, got delayed in declaring war against the USSR, and had to pull too many units out of Spain for there garrison value. This allowed a Western Allied invasion of Spain.)
