Re: Will Hitler Trump All?
German plan for the first part of the war has been mostly successful. A new, updated, plan for the coming part of the war is underway.
Some thoughts on the war so far (from the German perspective):
- The early loss of North Africa was a heavy blow, that caused some adjustments. And frustration.
- The heavy pressure from the Allies in the far north, and eventually the loss of Petsamo has been a major concern, Several plans to reinforce the area has been hatched, and they all have been scrapped. Some after the initial moves had been made.
- The planned attack on Leningrad had to be cancelled. The troops were critically needed elsewhere.
- The strategic air defence is not yet fully functional. Heavier air losses than expected is partly the reason here.
- The western defences where for a long time inadequate. This was only a minor concern since the western Allies were lacking in invasion capability. Now, however, the western Allies are threatening to do evil things, so the defences needs to be further strengthened.
+ The war in the East has mostly gone according to plan. A few early setbacks were a cause for concern. But since progress was made by AGC there was never any need for any major readjustments. The only major one was to further reinforce a already strong AGC where progress was made to try and achieve a major breakthrough.
+ The Greece campaign were a cause for concern, and felt it lacked the planned resources when it was activated, but Allies were focused elsewhere so the operation went smoothly.

Addendum:
The decision to build the synth plan early made for a somewhat weaker force early in the war. This made for some difficult choices were to place the relatively weak German panzer force available (and few German HQs). Also, the reserves were to few for comfort. At the same time the synth has been helpful in many aspects. Oil usage has not really been an issue. Strategic planning has been easier knowing that the oil production is good even without any new oil resources captured.
