Text in Battle Introductions

Post by toddtreadway »

It seems that the text is too big for the battle introduction screens where it shows objectives, etc. It gets cut off halfway through the sentence. Anyone else have this problem? Is there some way to scroll through the text?

What resolution are you playing at? And which battle?

It happens with all the battles. 1024 resolution. I can't select a higher resolution.

Attached is a picture of the problem. As can be seen, I can only see the first two objectives. Also, the text appears to be too big. It extends over some of the other objective text on the screen.

I've never seen it behave that way before, it's as if the font it wants to use doesn't exist. You can see from the screenshots posted how that text normally looks.

Do you have any unusual settings as far as your desktop/font appearance?

I had the desktop font sizes set to Large, to compensate for the high resolution I run my desktop at. I changed the resolution to normal, which did change the font size in the game. But it still seems that I can only see the first two objectives. Is that correct? Is there some way to scroll through them? Maybe I am misreading the objectives, since it looks like there are two on the mini map, maybe there are actually only two? But the text says Objective 1 of 3, and objective 2 of 3, so it implies there may be a third.

Todd,

Yes, that looks right.

The 1/3 and 2/3 tell you that there is a third objective, but that it's not apparent yet. You are seeing both of the current objectives. Further objectives generally appear when you've completed the existing ones. Just check back with the Menu -> Objectives screen after you complete an objective to see if any new ones have appeared.

I noticed that a third objective was added at some point during the battle. I didn't notice any indication that the objective had been added. Is there any such notification? It would be useful.

A text indicating a new objective should appear in the message window.

According to the manual (p.9) you will receive an in-game notification when the objectives are updated. Having said that, I can't remember if I have seen them, but I think the notice is in the info section middle bottom of the screen.

For anyone with the fonts running off the screen but missed the resolution. If your fonts in windows are set to "large fonts" you might get the text too big for the screen. The fix would be to set fonts to normal instead of large.
