Different periods of warfare reflected?

Just a quick question about AGEOD games...

To what extent do the AGEOD games play differently / reflect different periods of warfare? In terms of mechanics etc., of course, but also how differently do they play out? I have been playing RUS Gold and am debating getting another of the newer ones, but would be somewhat put off if the differences are largely cosmetic / scenario design (I'm assuming it's not so).

Thanks for any input.

The Ageod Engine its quite complex imo, it has a lot of parameters inside that allow to make real differences in several aspects of the game and to use or not some features. My experience is more than 3 years working with it and many times need to ask Ageod team in order to understand correctly such things.
There are several types of supply system, lots of parameters to represent battles, to manage armies, casualties, leaders,...

Even though there can be some degree of generic manual, when I get a new game I generally look at game logic, game rules folders to look for under the hood values such as attrition, sufficient MC to retreat adjacent region etc..
Understanding those need a help from AGEwiki. Some of it simple by looking at values.

Main differences between games can be anywhere from entrenchments, MTSG, movement, turn scale.
